πππ«π₯π’ππ«: The OWWA Region 1 Parokya Team visited Sugpon, Ilocos Sur, one of the far-flung municipalities of the said province, “Convergence for Progress,” is its vision.
The team was warmly welcomed by Local Chief Executive, Hon. Daniel Lano Jr. and Migrant Desk Officer, Ms. Marcel Fontawa. Hon. Lano affirmed his strong support for strengthening the support system and reintegration programs for the OFWs and their families left behind for a unified and progressive town. On his note, he wished to establish an OFW Circle to be a part of the People’s Council, which was objectively achieved during the parokya, wherein a municipal-based OFC was formed and gave a start-up capital.
A Migration Awareness and Campaign Advocacy on OWWA Reintegration Programs as well as a consultation forum were conducted among 80 participants, comprising six barangays in Sugpon. OWWA RWO1 and LGU Sugpon converge on a partnership for future undertakings for the welfare of the OFW constituents and their families.
