With the approval of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) Region 1 of its Enhanced Ancestral Domain Sustainable Development Protection Plan (ADSDPP), Sugpon became the first municipality in Ilocos Sur to submit a sustainability plan on the development and protection of its Bago – Kankanaey tribe.
The ADSDPP is a set of actions and plans on how to maintain or protect the culture and traditions of the Bago – Kankanaey tribe in the face of globalization.
Representatives from the NCIP – Ilocos Sur handed over the ADSDPP this morning to the chief captains of the six (6) barangay and the representatives of the different offices of the Municipality.
